Michelle Rush

Michelle Rush, Counsellor, Therapist, Social Worker

I am a qualified Psychosynthesis Counsellor and a member of NZAC.  I have been in private practice for the past 20 years. I am also a registered Social Worker and a member of ANZASW.

Working with individuals, young adults, and adolescents, I provide a confidential service and follow the code of ethics of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers.

I have experience in working with a wide range of emotional challenges including Sensitive Claims for ACC, clients with depression, anxiety, abuse, trauma and relationship difficulties and other general real life issues. I have been  privileged to work with the students at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design as part of the Pastoral Care programme providing counselling services. I also have extensive experience in Advance Care or "End of Life"planning.

I am very passionate about assisting clients to overcome their difficulties. With the advent of Covid and the need for social distancing, I have adopted online counselling and been able to continue to support my clients in these difficult times.

The reason I decided on the name Real Life Counselling is because in life "stuff" happens - marriage, divorce, children, miscarriage, illness, death, and many other events along the way.

Real life counselling is working through the issues in life that can affect us all.

Real life isn't straight forward, and I work in an empathic and collaborative way providing a safe and supportive environment where you can work through difficulties to live to your full potential. Contact me now
